Behind the Name

My grandmother was the inspiration behind our name, Ferrari Flowers. Ann’s parents immigrated from Italy and their last name was Ferrari. According to Ann, they actually pronounced it like Fer-air-re, so even though it looks like the spelling of the famous Italian car company, we will pronounce it the way she told us. She raised my dad as a single parent with the help of my dad’s grandfather, Azelio Ferrari and somehow helped put me through college while living on very little. I only knew her until I was in high school but I always loved spending time with her. She was not much of a talker but she embodied a quiet strength and resilience to me. So as a tribute to her, and a way to carry on her family name I am proud to call our new floral business, Ferrari Flowers.
